A Love Letter To "Beat 'Em Up" Video Games

Page of Rage is a one-page breakdown of the Pummeled by Foot and Fist system that anyone can use to create or recreate a "Beat 'Em Up" game in TTRPG form. Serving as a love letter to the genre and such games from the 80s into today, this system is easy to learn and use. We encourage creators to share whatever games they come up with, using this system, to help spread the love of a genre that many of us grew up with.

What To Expect

• Uses d4 - d10 dice
• Players have 30 Max HP and deal d6 damage, with health restored by food and in between levels, while damage done can be increased or decreased by Special Moves and powerups
• Take advantage of the environment to find food, weapons, powerups, while hazards in the area can be used to cause further damage
• Use Style Points to perform Special Moves or Stun/Launch enemies
• No hit to roll, only damage, and EVERYONE takes their turn at the same time
• Damage rolls also establish attack order, starting from the highest followed by descending order
• Emphasis on describing how attacks are pulled off, for both entertainment value and potential in-game rewards
